Take off the window coverings to let more light in and lend a casual air to the contemporary dining room. If you want window treatments, try natural bamboo or grass shades. Add a silk panel on either side of the window. The shades will give you privacy and the curtains won’t even need to close. Contemporary dining room furniture focuses on straight lines. Look for chairs that include a fabric element such as micro-suede parsons’ chairs. Stainless steel and frosted glass make for a modern dining room table. Any wood tones should be dark, such as espresso, with minimal grain showing.

If you’re looking for media storage, pay attention to special features. From drop-down drawers to perforated doors for interference-free remote control use, think about the best design for holding your collections and components. For hardcore gamers a media storage unit with large bins can be most useful. Make sure the storage pieces you buy will house what you already have, and can easily accommodate additional items.

Furniture doesn’t always have to sit against the walls. Slide a console behind the sofa in the middle of the room. Or use a room divider to pack additional storage space into a small area. It is important to consider the décor and size of the room you are planning to put the entertainment center in, as well. Local Celebs pop in our showroom all the time to see what’s new and on sale after working with our furniture on staged sets. Ryan Gosling was no exception. Many celebs come in incognito and leave unnoticed, but the paparazzi are notorious and occasionally stars gets caught doing “normal” every day activities like shopping for furniture.

Speaking of which, modular seating has come a long way since the retro pods of the 1980’s and sectionals in particular made the biggest leap. Sectionals come in just about every style and shape you can imagine. Sectionals offer many possibilities. People often think of them for open rooms, but in a small space, an L-shaped sectional can offer more seating than as a separate sofa and accent chair. Not to mention, it’s much easier to move sectional pieces through narrow doorways or tight stairwells than a single sofa.

Walnut is a great alternative to dark chocolate. It has tones that range from dark to light and will blend with many different finishes.  We’ve found an amazing designer that makes classic pieces with clean lines and slick proportions.  We just know that you’ll love it too.

We’ve posted a few pictures on our Facebook Fan page, but you really should stop by to see them in person.  As you run your hand across the smooth finish of our walnut collection, you’ll notice the attention to detail in all aspects of the piece.  Our craftsman was careful to match the wood grain across the fronts of the pieces, which adds sophistication to the modern lines.
